Wind and Rain Playground Space Frame Roof — Reliable School Sports Hall Structure

bolt ball space frame roof for school wind and rain sports playground

The wind and rain playground space frame roof is a professional large-span steel structure specially designed for school outdoor sports venues. Built with Q235B / Q355B high-strength steel tubes and standard bolt ball joints, this space frame system delivers stable mechanical performance and strong overall rigidity.

All steel components adopt hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion treatment with an average zinc coating thickness of 85μm–120μm. This effectively prevents rust and corrosion under long-term outdoor wind, rain and ultraviolet exposure, extending the service life to more than 30 years.

Different from traditional concrete roofs, the bolt ball space frame adopts full factory prefabrication. All tubes, bolts, sleeves and connectors are precisely processed in advance. The entire site construction relies on pure bolt assembly without welding, ensuring safe, clean and fast installation on school construction sites.

The column-free large-span design can easily cover 20m–60m open playground areas. It provides wide, barrier-free indoor sports space for basketball, badminton and multi-functional student activities. The structure meets national wind resistance, snow load and seismic standards for public school buildings.
Lightweight but high-strength, the space frame roof reduces foundation load and overall project cost. It is currently the most popular structural solution for new and renovated school wind and rain playgrounds and campus gymnasiums worldwide.
